IAT Level 1

This course covers the key theoretical filters found in Acupuncture Oriental Medicine theory and is an entry point for allied health practitioners wishing to incorporate acupuncture into their clinical practice.

The course combined with IAT Level 2 is has equivalence with the International Acupuncture Association of Physical Therapists' (IAAPT) standards for foundational courses in acupuncture. The scope of practice is only for musculoskeletal disorders. Included in the course will be methods of addressing systemic drivers of pain and movement dysfunction. More advanced levels such as IAT level 2, are required for a more extended scope of practice that includes women's health, cardio thoracics and neurology.

This course is 80 hours minimum study, via face to face modules, webinars, pre reading, self directed learning with quiz assessment, as well as a collaborative project.

Cost: $2600 or $ 2500 if you are an ASAP member.

Level 1 Training is accredited by the Australian Society of Acupuncture Physiotherapists as well as the APA. Registration and enrolment can be made by filling out the enrolment form and down loading the payment instructions found in the drop down menu tab. 

Level 1 Student Resources

Once registered, students of the IAT Level 1 will receive a pre reading manual. Teaching slides can be downloaded and you will receive a hard copy. Your are required to buy a text and point location app for your phone or tablet. Details of this will be supplied upon enrolment.
